Tasting Room & Gift Shop
After an extensive renovation, the building that used to house Dodge’s Cider Mill now houses our manufacturing room, tasting room and gift shop. The décor is ‘roughly sleek’ with an eclectic combination of original wood beams, reclaimed wood, leather chairs, contemporary lighting and sound system. It is truly a unique and inviting space to relax, sip, snack and shop.
When the winery is open, the tasting room is open! You may sample any wine you choose or you can purchase a “flight” which will give you the opportunity to evaluate at least five wine samples and hear the story behind each wine. No need to make a reservation unless you plan on coming with 10 or more guests. A quick call to let us know you’re coming would be greatly appreciated!
Often, we have barrel tastings and taste tests where you are able to help Donna and Rick develop new wine blends. On weekends, select weekdays or by appointment explore our wine making process with a tour of our manufacturing room.
Wine Accessories and Specialty Foods
We carry Mariposa gifts, wine accessories, and specialty foods to pair with wine for a birthday, holiday or to make things easy for your entertaining. Our foods compliment the Mediterranean diet which include, natural foods, artisan cheeses, oils, and chocolate. One popular item is Ariston Extra Virgin Olive Oil imported from Greece and Ariston Balsamic Vinegar imported from Modena, Italy that can be purchased prepackaged or as an economical refillable containers.
We also feature a large selection of Mill River private label preserves and salsas along with gourmet products from Robert Rothschild Farms. Fresh international & local artisan cheeses selected or made by Luca Mignogna, at Wolf Meadow Farm in Rowley are available in the gift shop. Of course you can’t have wine without chocolate! Our selection of local chocolates from Winfrey’s and Taza are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
In addition to the tasting room and gift shop, the winery property contains our manufacturing facility, where all our Select, Mill River and Plum Island wines are produced and bottled. If you are interested in a tour of our facilities…just ask! Our vineyard, planted in spring 2012, consists of apple trees, Cayuga White Grapes and Frontenac Grapes. After your flight of wine you are invited to enjoy our picnic area in the vineyard!
